Whilst Sax Bandits is all about the ‘band experience’ of making noise in a room with like-minded people, we know you might be looking for some extra help, guidance, or motivation from a professional saxophone teacher, either to improve your sax skills or just to feel more confident playing alongside other people.
(You don’t need to be a member of Sax Bandits to enjoy the following resources.)
Many of our band leaders are also professional saxophone teachers and offer music lessons for all ages and abilities. From essential saxophone techniques, to understanding rhythm and timing, to playing your favourite sax solos; a teacher’s expert guidance can help you to avoid the common pitfalls and become a more confident player. Book online saxophone lessons on a regular or ad-hoc basis and enjoy learning from the convenience of your home!
For a limited time we are offering a free one-off 30-minute music lesson with one of our band leaders. This offer is open to any new saxophonists who commit to attending a Sax Bandits band session for the first time (which is also free). We want to ensure you feel as comfortable and excited about playing the saxophone as possible! Use the lesson to recap some saxophone basics, look over Sax Bandits sheet music, or just have a general chit-chat – it’s entirely up to you!
If online lessons aren’t for you, you can enjoy face-to-face lessons and learn to play alongside a professional saxophonist. We’ve compiled a list of recommended saxophone teachers so that you can find saxophone lessons in your local area.
There are a ton of free music lessons available from professional saxophonists on YouTube, many of whom have additional paid content and subscriptions available on their own websites. We have compiled a list of our favourite saxophone YouTube channels to save you some searching!
We are currently in the process of creating a video series for complete beginners, to take you from an enthusiastic newcomer to a competent player. This will walk you through essential saxophone techniques, learning the notes on the saxophone, reading notated music, and understanding basic rhythms. By the end of the course you should have acquired enough sax skills to get involved in our Sax Bandits band sessions!
Register your interest by clicking the button below and we will let you know whenever the course is released.
