"TAG, YOU'RE IT!"

Every month we ask one of our members to take a turn in preparing refreshments during the 30-minute interval of their band session. This is an opportunity for members to break from playing, as well as connect and catch up with each other.

What Do I Need To Provide?

Your band leader will bring tea, coffee, and sugar – you just need to supply the following:

2 pints of Milk
Biscuits/Cakes/Snacks (for 15-25 people)

Home-baked goodies are always well received and we’ve had some impressive contributions over the years. If you plan to make your own, please clearly display the ingredients to accommodate those with allergies or intolerances. However, there’s no pressure if baking isn’t your thing… shop-bought snacks are also perfectly fine!

What Do I Need To Do?

Arrive 30 minutes ahead of the band session to allow time to prepare the refreshments area so that everything is ready to be served in the interval. Your band leader will arrive around the same time to open the venue.

SETUP

  1. Find a suitable surface or assemble a table.
  2. Boil some water; if an urn is available, set it up in a safe area and fill up to halfway, otherwise use a kettle.
  3. Ask your bandleader for the refreshments box and unpack its contents. You should find tea, coffee, and sugar.
  4. Put out a few spoons and a bowl to be used as a ‘tea bag bin’.
  5. Please offer your band leader a cuppa!

PACK-DOWN

  1. Throw away any rubbish into the appropriate recycling and land-waste bins at the venue.
  2. Collect any dirty mugs/cutlery and wash them up – washing liquid and scourers should be available at the venue.
  3. Inform your band leader if any tea/coffee/sugar supplies need to be restocked.
  4. Repack the refreshments box. Please giveaway or take home any leftover milk/biscuits/cake/snacks as we cannot keep these.
  5. Leave the kitchen area clean and tidy as you found it.

When Is It My Turn?

To make this fair and easy to manage, we have created a drinks rota. This schedule outlines who is responsible for which band location in which month. Members will only be asked to do the drinks rota once every 1-2 years (depending on how many people are in your band).

What If I’m Away?

If you are unable to attend on your assigned date please arrange to swap with another member from your band location. You can directly communicate with other members in your band on Sax HQ (view all members here).

Please drop an email to notify us if you’ve swapped dates with someone or are struggling to find a replacement.
